Lorem Shelter — the public site, and the tool behind it

A demo we built to show the private system a business actually runs on — the half that lives behind the public landing page.

The point

Lorem Animal Shelter is fictional: filler content, stock photos, no real pets. What's real is everything underneath, a public website paired with an internal back-office, built to show what we can build for you. We didn't pick a shelter because we chase that niche. We picked it because a shelter has the same shape as a lot of small operations: a public face that brings people in, and a private tool that keeps the day-to-day running.

What we built

The public side does the visitor job: browse adoptable pets, read about the organization, file an inquiry tied to a specific animal, sign up to volunteer, see upcoming events. Fast, works on a phone, points people at the action that matters.

Sign in as staff and the back-office opens up: add and edit records with photos, track vaccinations and get warned about overdue shots, work an inquiry queue, manage events and volunteers, attach notes and documents to any record. The kind of internal tool small operations usually live without, running on spreadsheets and inboxes because custom software feels out of reach.

Why it matters

The harder half is the system that keeps a business running after the landing page has done its job — where staff actually work, where the data lives, where the messy day-to-day happens. The public site and the staff tool share the same records and respect the line between what visitors see and what stays internal. That's the half we're built for.

If this looks like your operation

Swap “adoptable pets” for jobs, parts, or quotes and the shape is the same: a public front and a private tool that share one set of records. If your needs land anywhere between “a better website” and “a tool that runs my shop,” there’s a piece of this that looks like it.
