Lorem Animal Shelter is a fictional animal rescue. The content is filler, the photos are stock, and no real pets are looking for homes here. What's real is everything underneath: a public website paired with an internal back-office, built by Adept Web Dev to show what we can build for you.

We didn't pick animal shelters because we're chasing that niche — we aren't. We picked it because shelters share the same software needs as many small organizations: a friendly public site that brings people in, plus a private staff tool that keeps the day-to-day running.

The public side handles the visitor-facing job: browsing adoptable pets, reading about the organization, learning how the adoption process works, filing an inquiry tied to a specific animal, signing up to volunteer, checking what events are coming up. Each page is fast, works on phones, and nudges visitors toward the action that matters most without making them hunt for it.

Sign in as a staff member (schedule a demo) and the whole back-office opens up. Admins can add and edit pet records with photos, track vaccinations and get warned about overdue shots, work through adoption inquiries, manage events and volunteer signups, and attach notes and documents to any record. It's the kind of internal tool small organizations usually live without — keeping everything in spreadsheets and inboxes — because custom software feels out of reach.

But it doesn't have to be.

Plenty of web shops can build a landing page. Fewer can build the private system that keeps a business running once the landing page has done its job — the place where staff actually work, where customer data lives, where the messy day-to-day happens.
